Mally is a glass artist and the owner of the Blackberry Glass
Studio, a specialty glass design house located in Mazomanie,
Wisconsin. Jennifer creates original, fused, artistry
glass in the form of large panels, framed glass pictures,
custom tiles, mosaics, slumped sculpture, glass vessels and
jewelry. The Blackberry Glass Studio creates pieces for galleries,
special orders for clients, and commercial glass work for
architects and interior designers.
For the past eight years Jennifer has successfully combined
her years of experience as a mechanical engineer with her
life-long passion for art. While living abroad for several
years, Jennifer studied at a fiber arts school in Finland
and also worked as a design engineer in Germany and England.
This unique combination of experiences gives Jennifer the
ability to create with glass both technically as well as artistically.

Fused
or kiln formed glass is made by hand-cutting and layering
beautifully colored and textured glass and fusing it in a
kiln to temperatures up to 1500 degrees. The glass melts together
to form a single piece of glass with all the individual qualities
of its pieces. The new sheet of glass can be slumped into
another shape, cut, polished, or framed as art.
Jennifer is a native of Wisconsin and lives with her family
surrounded by the beauty of the hills, woods and Wisconsin
River which are her main sources of artistic inspiration.
Jennifer
will exhibit her artworks and explain the process of creating
fused glass. Because her studio will be open during the tour,
people are fee to wander in, ask questions and see her fusing
equipment.
