My pastel and acrylic paintings celebrate the beauty and bounty of Wisconsin lush rural landscapes, small town streetscapes, and still life paintings of garden-fresh flowers and produce. My intention is to explore color and light, and to create paintings that welcome the viewer. The rich, vibrant colors of both pastel and acrylics inspire me. As a graphic designer and art director, I learned drawing, design and discipline. When I returned to fine art, painting opened my eyes to the everyday beauty around me. I attended Rhode Island School of Design and received a B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art. My mother, a creative and talented watercolor painter and commercial artist, encouraged my artistic pursuits from an early age.
