Tamlyn Akins | watercolor

Tamlyn Akins received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with High Distinction in Drawing from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1980 and has lived in the Madison, Wisconsin area since 1983. Her artwork has been shown in ten solo exhibitions and more than fifty group exhibitions throughout the United States. She has received several awards and her artwork has been purchased for numerous private and corporate collections in Canada, Korea, and the United States, including the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (Madison, WI), the Kohler Company (Kohler, WI), and Northwestern Mutual Life (Milwaukee, WI).

Tamlyn has acted as Juror of Awards for several Wisconsin exhibitions. She has conducted "Origami As Art" workshops during the Celebrate Madison Festival from 2002-2006. In 2005 she illustrated a children’s book for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in celebration of 100 years of Wisconsin Forestry. Currently she is the Mount Horeb Area Arts Asssociation’s Executive Director, President and Spring Art Tour Coordinator, and the Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors SC Chapter Membership Chair. She has been a member of WP&S since 1987.
