Doug E. L. Haynes is a writer and painter. He is a native of Madison, Wisconsin. Haynes is an active member of Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors. In 2005/2006 he organized the exhibit, Madison: People Places and Events. He has also participated in numerous WP&S sponsored exhibits and helped organize the Non-Traditional Self-Portrait exhibit at the Wisconsin Academy Gallery. Haynes also helped to organize for the WP&S Japan exchange in 2000 and 2002. Haynes has also worked on behalf of the Wisconsin Visual Art Lifetime Achivement Awards and has been on the Nominating Committee since its inception. Since 2003, he has been editor of the Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors publication, Art in Wisconsin. In addition to his writing for Art in Wisconsin, Haynes has also written for the Chicago Artist's News.

Haynes' work has been exhibited widely in Wisconsin. He has participated in juried exhibits throughout the state. Some of the venues which have shown his work include the Rahr West Museum, the Museum of Wisconsin Art, the Overture Center for the Arts, the Wusum Museum, the Memorial Union Galleries, the Nicolet Center for the Arts, the Wright Museum and the Charles Allis Museum. In 2000 his work was selected for the Governor's Awards in Support of the Arts.

Haynes is regarded as an expert in website creation for artists. He has spoken on the topic for Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors, the Madison Art Guild and the Wisconsin Arts Congress. Since 2003 Haynes has offered an online website creation service to artists at FineArtPost.com. This site enables artists to create their own websites.
