Phyllis Stokes at home
I grew up in small towns in western Canada, the oldest of eleven children. My ambitions were to be an Olympic athlete which ended when I grew into a girl too heavy for serious athletics. The other desire was to be an artist. That never came about until after retirement when I left central Wisconsin where I had been living for the previous 30 years and moved to sunny Arizona.

While in college I had studied both studio art and art history, but marriage and children interfered with art as a career. In Arizona I chose to emphasize on photography, (and especially post processing of my images), entering competitions and shows in the Phoenix area. One of my photos was chosen a year ago as Best in Show at the Sun City West Photo Club competition, and another received a medal in the Arizona state-wide Travel section in Spring 2018.
